We designed a pork butcher’s chart for our corn maze that was planted with precision technology on May 14, 2022

No, it’s not a “pigment” of your imagination. Danndee Flowers is proud to announce that we have partnered with the Illinois Pork Producers Association, for our corn maze this year!

We are delighted to not only present you a hog-themed corn maze, where you’ll be able to wander the different cuts of pork, but also to share many amazing pig facts with you!

The relationship between corn and soybeans and pork production is a surprisingly tight-knit one in commodities farming, making our decision to partner with IPPA a no-brainer.
Did you know that the consumption of corn and soybean meal comes in at a staggering 9 bushels and 125 pounds, respectively, per pig, from wean to finish? And corn alone makes up around 70% of a pig’s diet. Which is why many farmers who raise pigs, also grow corn and soybeans!

At Danndee Flowers, agricultural education is a driving force behind what we do and why we exist. We believe in the importance of knowing where your food comes from, and in fostering an appreciation for our nation’s farmers.

Exploration of our corn maze is included in the price of admission to the farm. We hope that it provides not only a fun weekend activity, but also that it becomes a launchpad for thoughtful discussion in your families.
