Product Spotlight | Tractor Tisane
“You say tomato, I say tomahto.” You say tea, I say tea-sane…tih-sah-nee…tai-sane…
It’s ok. We stumbled a bit too, when developing our newest product in the country store.
Tisane (pronounced ti-zahn or ti-zan) is more than a peculiar word. It is defined as any water-based herbal or floral infusion. Did you know that tea is only true tea, when brewed with camellia sinensis leaves? Anything else is considered a tisane!
At Danndee Flowers, one of our main focuses is agricultural education. And for that matter, education in general. Which is why we thought it so important to share with you the difference between a tea and a tisane. It was quite the revelation, when working on this product, that we were not creating a tea after all, but a tisane.
We hope you appreciate as much as we do, how cool that is!
Tractor Tisane, available now in our curated gift collections and in our country store this summer, is a calming blend of lavender and chamomile. It is light and floral, and wonderful with our new lavender syrup or local honey. We will also be offering a Tractor Tisane with mint, which is a delightfully refreshing spin on our original blend.
Tractor Tisane is made with our very own home-grown flowers and herbs, and blended in-house in mom’s cottage-licensed kitchen.
Brew a cup, and see how we’re putting the “ahhh” in farm.
For the best brew:
Bring a kettle of water to the boil.
Add 1 teaspoon of Tractor Tisane into a tea infuser, and place into teacup or mug.
Pour about 6oz of water from kettle over infuser, and steep for 3-5 minutes.
Enjoy on its own, or with our very own lavender syrup or local honey, for a relaxing treat.
Each 1oz container of tisane will yield 10-12 6oz cups.
